Home Remedy
- 1 liter of clean water - 1 tablespoon of sugar (table sugar or brown sugar)
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt (non-iodized, such as sea salt or rock salt)
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (to help with pH balance)
1. Mix Ingredients: In a clean container, combine the water, sugar, salt, and baking soda (if using). Stir well until all the ingredients are dissolved.
2. Administer: Provide this solution to your chickens in their waterers or use a syringe (without a needle) to administer it directly to those that are weak or not drinking.
3. Monitor: Observe the chickens for any improvement in their condition. Ensure they have access to fresh water as well.
Usage: This homemade electrolyte solution can help rehydrate chickens and provide them with some energy. It's particularly useful in cases of mild dehydration, stress, or when recovering from illness.
