A helpful guide to trouble shooting your own hatch
Shipped hatching eggs are a biological product with many variables influencing development, including shipping conditions and incubation setup after arrival. Outcomes can range from 0% to 100% and cannot be guaranteed. The farm offers no credits, discounts or refunds on purchasing eggs. Egg are a one time use product.
Hatch outcomes cannot be compared across different sources or setups. Results from other eggs, breeders or previous hatches do not apply, as each shipment and incubation environment is unique.
• Resting period: How long were the eggs allowed to rest at room temperature after arrival before being placed in the incubator?
• Arrival condition: What condition were the eggs in when they arrived (any cracks, loose or detached air cells, or were the eggs cold to the touch)?
• Air cell observation: When candling, what did the air cells look like (stable, saddle-shaped, detached, unusually large, etc.)?
• Incubator brand/model: What incubator are you using? (This matters)
• Temperature settings: What temperature was the incubator set to? Did you confirm temperature and humidity daily?
• Independent thermometers: Do you have additional thermometers inside the incubator to confirm the displayed temperature?
• Humidity levels: What humidity readings were maintained during the first 7 days of incubation?
• Turning method: Are the eggs on an automatic turner or being hand-turned? If hand-turned, how many times per day?
• Candling observations: On which day(s) did you candle, and what exactly did you see (clear egg, spider veins, blood ring, dark embryo, etc.)? Please attach clear candling photos for review.
• Power interruptions: Were there any power outages, incubator malfunctions, or temperature spikes or drops during incubation?
• Mixed incubation stages: Are eggs at different stages of incubation being run in the same incubator at the same time?
• Incubator opening frequency: During the first 7 days of incubation, approximately how many times was the incubator opened? For the remainder of the incubation period, approximately how many times per week was the incubator opened for candling, handling, or checking eggs?
If you require further help, email with these fully answered along with clear candled photos. This must be all purchased eggs and not selected eggs. (This is not optional)
-Eggs candled upon arrival
-candled at day 7-10
- Eggs cracked into a bowl at any stage are not a verifiable way. Once that action is completed without any candling photos, the farm cannot assess the situation and the ticket is considered closed.
If your information is reviewed, please note that hatch outcomes do not qualify for replacements, credits, or discounts. You are welcome to place a new order at anytime.
Troubleshooting is provided as a courtesy and as time allows. Not all submissions may receive a response.
