Breezy Bird Farms: Why Hatching Eggs Come with Risk—And What You Need to Know
SHIPPED EGG RISKS & REALITIES
Thank you for taking the time to understand the full scope of hatching egg ownership before you decide to purchase. Every egg—and every hatch—is unique.
When you purchase from this farm, this guide is to offered so you understand fully that you’ve entered into this knowingly.
What You Accept When You Purchase
- Risk is unavoidable. That is the reality. From handling to the unpredictability of incubation, we can’t promise hatch rates.
- No refunds or replacements. Because the variables are real—from travel time and handling, to incubator settings and experience—refunds aren’t possible.
- Shipping fragile goods. Hatching eggs cannot be insured. They’re fragile, organic, and not replaceable like standard parcels.
- External forces at play. Weather, carrier delays, breaks or cracks in the shell—many things happen beyond my control. Same with your incubation setup, which you also manage.
- Fertility isn’t a guarantee. Even under perfect conditions, not every egg is viable. Some may appear fertile, then later show early embryo failure or stop developing entirely.
- Sex isn’t guaranteed. Chicks may hatch as male or female—but eggs are not sexed, and there’s no replacement for chicks that don’t hatch as you expected.
- Order flexibility is limited. Once your order is packed or has entered the shipping lineup, changes aren’t possible. No refunds.
- Forecast your numbers. I recommend ordering 2–4 times the number of hens you hope to keep. Breeding is unpredictable—your numbers should account for that reality.
- Fertility remains high—but not constant. Weekly testing keeps mine above 90%, though natural fluctuations are part of the process.
- Genetic or shipping-related abnormalities may occur. These are rare, but they can happen. It’s part of working with living, unique beings.
> Remember: Don’t count your chickens—and chicks—before they hatch.
What Sets Breezy Bird Farms Apart
- Yes, I’m a one-person farm operation—but what pays off is decades of experience, intentional breeding, and meticulous care:
- Every egg is hand-collected, inspected, and sorted with precision. Remember, eggs are natural and organic. Variation between eggs sent will occur in quality and size. This is natural and normal and we do not apologize for nature and what it offers.
- My flock thrives on quality feed, regular health checks, and stable environments.
- Packed with intention: I use brand-new, secure packaging systems, and offer options like Egg Armour to maximize hatch viability (though not guaranteed).
- I test fertility weekly, aiming for 90%+ before any egg is listed.
